SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS

These are some of the general rules for searching GHfind’s online database.

These rules, which are based on boolean logic, can be mixed and matched.

Due to the size of the database, it is generally important to understand these rules to conduct more precise searches.

EXAMPLE #1:

+hotel +kumasi

All results that include the words “hotel” AND “kumasi”.

EXAMPLE #2:

hotel -kumasi

All results that include the word “hotel” BUT EXCLUDE the word “kumasi”.

EXAMPLE #3:

foot*

All results that began with “foot”, like “football” or “footcare”.


TIP #1:

If a search is bringing up too many results, it’s best to include the plus sign in front of every applicable word.

TIP #2:

All searches must be at least three-characters long.

TIP #3:

Telephone hyperlinks only work on mobile devices, as they link directly to telephone numbers.

TIP #4:

E-mail hyperlinks will not work on a desktop device unless it has an email client is configured.

TIP #4:

When searches for businesses in regional capitals, search by the name of the capital itself, not the name of the region:

Accra (Greater Accra Region / Ghana) – Kumasi (Ashanti Region) – Tamale (Northern Region)

Cape Coast (Central Region) – Ho (Volta Region) – Sekondi-Takoradi (or just Takoradi, Western Region)

Bolgatanga (Upper East) – Wa (Upper West) – Sunyani (Brong-Ahafo)
